THE GAP OF DUNLOE
Killarney’s most famous tour. Travel by jaunting car from the historic Kate Kearney’s Cottage through the stunning Gap of Dunloe to Lord Brandon’s Cottage in the heart of Killarney National Park, where, after a stop for lunch, you will travel by open boat through Killarney’s three famous lakes to arrive at the 15th century bastion of Ross Castle.

KILLARNEY HIGHLIGHTS
This tour centres around the many attractions that Killarney has to offer. The main areas visited are: the ruins of Aghadoe from where the finest view of the Killarney Valley is to be seen, the Gap of Dunloe, Ross Castle, Muckross House and Gardens, Torc Waterfall and Killarney National Park.

KILLARNEY NATIONAL PARK
Ireland’s first National Park lies at the foot of Ireland’s highest mountain range, MacGillycuddy’s Reeks. The park today covers an area of 10,000 hectares (over 26,000 acres). The Park boasts the three world famous Lakes of Killarney.

MUCKROSS HOUSE
Presented to the State in 1932 by Senator Arthur Vincent, Muckross House forms the focal point of the National Park while also serving as a major tourist attraction for the area. Adjoining the House are the world famous Muckross Gardens and Arboretum.

ROSS CASTLE
Built in the late 15th Century Ross Castle served as a residence for the “Kenmare” Family, and subsequently as an Army Barracks until the Castle was finally vacated in 1825.

TORC WATERFALL
Torc Waterfall is a wonderful cascade just south of Killarney town. It is particularly dramatic immediately after heavy rain when the torrent foams violently off the mountain-top and explodes over an 18 metre rock face.
